A Guide to Fourth of July in Surfside

By: Surfside Jun 28, 2019

Independence Day is one of the most festive holidays in the United States, and as such, it's a great time to get outside for the day and enjoy your surroundings. In Surfside, there are so many ways to celebrate Fourth of July - eating BBQ, enjoying a day at the pool or beach, and watching Fourth of July fireworks.

Ways to Celebrate the Holiday

Eat American

Surfside features a diverse array of restaurants that offer the finest American cuisine so you can celebrate the holiday by feasting on some American culinary classics. Head to Backyard BBQ and Brew for choice cuts of smoked meats and BBQ classics, drop-in to Araxi Burger for some of the best burgers in Town or slide into a booth at Flanigan’s to enjoy platters of chicken tenders, coleslaw and fries. Whatever the choice, you’ll be more than satisfied.

Picnic

A great American pastime, picnicking is a fantastic way to enjoy some quality time with family and friends. Surfside’s local park on 96th Street has a shaded area to lay out a spread, a playground for tots and a grassy field perfect for lawn games. Or head to the beach with your favorite blanket and umbrella to fully delight in Surfside’s beautiful views!

A Day at the Pool

There is nothing better than a summer day spent at the pool. Slather on some sunscreen, grab an umbrella and dive in. A day cooling off and getting some exercise in the pool is a classic way to spend this Patriotic holiday. With food and beverage service at many of our local hotel pools, the most difficult question may just be – which one?

Watch the Fireworks

For an evening for two, head to the Grand Beach Hotel for a delicious oceanside dinner followed by cocktails at the SkyBar for a rooftop view of the fireworks show. That’s something you can celebrate!

The celebration kicks off with swim races in the pool at 2:00 pm, followed by live music at 3:00 pm, and a spectacular firework display on the beach starting just after sundown at 9:00 pm. There will be prizes for swim race winners, crafts, a photo booth, live music, a DJ, and so much more.

Fourth of July Necessities
