Surfside’s Attracts World’s Best Chef

In the latest news about Surfside happenings, we are happy to share that Thomas Keller will be opening a restaurant in Surfside. The chef will oversee The Surf Club, one of two restaurants on the property of the new Surf Club Four Seasons Hotel.

America’s Best Chef

Long regarded as one of America’s best chefs, Thomas Keller is often credited with elevating American Fine dining with his world-renowned restaurants The French Laundry in California and Per Se in Manhattan.

His new Miami Beach restaurant at the Surf Club Four Seasons Hotel will be his first concept restaurant, decidedly different than his two aforementioned white-tablecloth Michelin-starred restaurants. Instead it will take inspiration from the history of the Surf Club, a former playground for the rich and famous, including Liz Taylor and Frank Sinatra.
Until the opening, the menu will remain secret but the chef promises a ‘classic Americana’ feel that will represent American’s golden age while focusing on the freshest ingredients. It is rumored that he has been testing recipes for over five years, cultivating the concept of the restaurant before he was convinced that the Surf Club was the right location. The restaurant will open in 2018.

The Surf Club Reimagined

The history of the Surf Club and Surfside is deeply intertwined, dating back to 1935, when Surfside was first incorporated by 35 members of the Surf Club, a private club located within town limits. The new Surf Club Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences spans nine acres of pristine beachfront, merging elements of past and present with thoughtful amenities that showcase the Four Seasons lifestyle and stunning new architecture by legendary architect Richard Meier. The much-anticipated project will open in early 2017.
