Sea Turtle Release!

Sea Turtle Conservation is at the heart of what Surfside is all about. This year, the Sea Turtle Awareness program are releasing their sea turtle rescues at Haulover Beach Park, just a short walk or bike from Surfside. We invite you to learn about sea turtles and watch as they begin their life underwater! 

When: August 23rd and August 30th, 2017

Time: 8:00PM - 10:00PM

Enrollment Fee: $10

To Register: - Search for “Sea Turtles” and choose the Haulover Park location. 

Journey into the world of sea turtles in this informative presentation and learn about different species, their life cycle, and some of the dangers they face today. 

The Sea Turtle Awareness program consists of a 45 min. PowerPoint presentation that explains the different Sea Turtle species, their life cycle, and some of the dangers they face throughout their life time. Following the presentation you will head to the beach to observe the hatchlings embarking on their exciting journey into the depths of the ocean. 

All lights MUST be turned off prior to arriving on beach; no light up shoes, glow sticks, or flash photography or cell phones allowed. please be aware there is no guarantee you will observe hatchling.

Due to all sea turtles being protected by the Endangered Species Act no one besides the permitted staff are allowed to handle the hatchlings.
