Meet the Team at The Residence Inn Miami Beach Surfside

By: Surfside Jul 11, 2018

For the inside scoop on everything from guest requests to Surfside recommendations, we spoke with the friendly and knowledgeable hotel staff at The Residence Inn Miami Beach Surfside.

Karina Hamilton, Guest Service Manager at the Residence Inn Miami Beach Surfside has been with the hotel for a little over a year, making sure guests are happy and enjoy their vacations. Alongside her are Concha Martinez, Tour & Travel Sales Manager and Housekeeping Manager Diunesky Morales, who together, are quite a diverse, talented group of hoteliers.

The trio love working in Surfside – Diunesky especially loves the tranquility of the area. And Concha agrees, noting, “Surfside is a beautiful city, where everything is close.”

The all-suite Residence Inn Miami Beach Surfside open in 2016, offering guests a prime location just blocks to downtown, the beach and the nearby attractions. Since then, the hotel has hosted guests from all over the world who have flocked to the Town for its laid-back atmosphere and proximity to the beach.

The trio agreed that one of the best things to do in Town is see Turtle Walk in front of Town Hall and spend time at the Community Center; swimming, splashing or taking a class. For meals, Karina says they always recommend guests walk down to Harding Avenue for delicious eats, as there is something for every taste. Diunesky recommends Flannigan’s for a casual meal.

For Karina, a perfect day in Surfside would consist of walking through the business district, having a coffee in the morning at Café Vert, seeing Turtle Walk art installation and walking the beach path for a little exercise and fresh ocean air.

When guests aren’t exploring, the hotel amenities include a lushly landscaped courtyard and a rooftop pool and bar. According to Concha, it’s perfect for longer stays as the spacious rooms have kitchenettes, there’s complimentary breakfast, and the hotel offers beach club service for guests who want to spend some time on the sand.

Karina adds, “We offer access to the Surfside Community Center and tennis courts, hotel bicycles, and a complete beach club with towels, umbrellas, and lounge chairs for our guests. We also have a rooftop pool with hammocks and cabanas for a quiet day in the sun!”

If guests are seeking more activity off property, Concha recommends a bike ride. “I always tell guests to explore the Town by bicycle, it’s very safe and it’s a great way to see everything,” she says.

Diunesky says that visitors should plan their trip during the turtle nesting season, “Watching hatchlings come out of the nest and head to the water is an experience unique to Surfside that will make for a memorable trip.”

For guests booking a stay at the Residence Inn Surfside, Karina’s insider tip, “I would definitely recommend that our guests try to book Ocean View rooms or rooms with balconies as they have the best views.” Better book quick, though, these coveted rooms are the first to fill!
