The Dining Hotspots You Can’t Miss

Looking for a new culinary experience? In honor of this month’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival, we’ve gathered a list of the best dining experiences in Surfside. From the decor to the food, these restaurants excite the senses across a variety of culinary tastes.

The Tuna Tower at 26 Sushi & Tapas

26 Sushi & Tapas, Kosher Sushi

26 Sushi & Tapas is one of the most widely talked about restaurants in Surfside. The modern and minimalist space is a family affair with chef Fernando Chang at the helm, who has worked in some of the city’s best kitchens. He has embraced the multi-cultural flavors of Miami to create a balanced fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine while also keeping kosher – no small feat. The menu features a wide variety of seasonal fish, the restaurant’s strength, so order several sushi rolls or specialty maki rolls. The  Crunch Mozza is popular as is the El Vacano, a take on a dynamite roll that includes salmon tempura and Aji Amarillo Aioli.

Burger, Milkshake & Wings at Araxi Burger

Araxi Burger, Best Burgers in Town

Surfside’s local burger joint Araxi Burger is a burger experience. This casual spot is known for excellent service and gourmet burgers – premium quality lean beef on a soft and tasty bun with topping options that include spicy chimichurri sauce, fresh avocado, or spicy onions – served up in a lively atmosphere decorated with sports memorabilia. To get a taste of the menu offering, order the slider trio and make your choice of three mini burgers from the list. And don’t forget a Banana & Nutella milkshake!

Krunchy Spicy Tuna Latkes with Sriracha cream cheese at Josh's Deli

Josh’s Deli, Doing Deli Wrong

Josh’s Delicatessen and Appetizing is a modern take on a traditional Jewish Deli. True to tradition, executive chef and owner Josh Marcus makes almost everything from scratch, serves deli staples, and bakes his own bread. But Josh’s Deli doesn’t serve up just the typical bagel and whitefish fare. Instead, he serves latkes with thinly sliced sashimi-style tuna topped with spicy mayo and a monster Jewban sandwich – pastrami, pork, pickle, and swiss – that is both delicious and has elicited surprise as “doing a deli wrong.” Josh has co-opted the phrase and used it to describe his creative take on deli classics, like Lobster Jewchacho. Only open for breakfast and lunch, come with an open mind and an empty stomach.

Il Pomodoro all' Insalata at Le Sirenuse

Le Sirenuse, European Fine Dining

The Italian export Le Sirenuse at The Surf Club is fine dining as its best. The outpost of the Amalfi coast hotel is a symbol of Italian hospitality with white tablecloth service and beautifully fresh, decadent Southern Italian cuisine. An experience at Le Sirenuse stands out for the impeccable atmosphere, the attention to detail, the food - the plating feels like a work of art - and the extensive champagne list. Try the Tartare di Manzo e Uovo Confit, a delicious beef tartare or take advantage of the seasonal Truffle menu – four courses of truffle goodnes. For a lighter experience, take a seat at The Champagne bar that melds the cocktails of The Surf Club’s early years with Italy’s aperitivo culture. Go for the drinks, stay for the snacks.
