Surfside's New Skate Park
Surfside Helps Build New Park
Ready to “hit the rails?” Surfside is happy to share that there’s a new skate park in town. Together with several surrounding towns, Surfside has helped to create a new fee-free skate park and pump track for everyone to enjoy – including our very own Mayor Dietch, who is an avid skateboarder!
The 7,500 square foot park, which is located just a few minutes from Surfside at Haulover Beach, combines a separate skate plaza and bicycle pump track, providing a place for people of all ages to enjoy free-wheeling fun on their skateboards, bikes, inline skates, or scooters. The park is BYO skateboard or bike and perfect for enthusiasts or those with an active lifestyle, open from 8am to 7pm.
What is a pump track?
The new hybrid skatepark and pumptrack was designed by Velosolutions, powerhouse team that have designed parks all over the world. But, what is a pump track? First things first, it’s a playground for all things on wheels and was meant to offer more opportunities for fans of other wheeled sports.
The track includes jumps, turns, embankments and more for all skills and age levels to enjoy, and is designed to provide more challenges as skill levels increase. From mountain bikes to skateboards, the track can be used by a multitude of wheel fans. Just remember, helmets are required!
10800 Collins Ave.
Open from 8am to 7pm daily
